I'm thankful that I got to sleep in this morning.
I'm thankful that I didn't have to go to work today.
I'm thankful that I was home when Jed came home for lunch.
I'm thankful that we don't have cable, or else I might just sit in front of the TV all day and not do anything productive.
I'm thankful that I had time during the day to clean the house.
I'm thankful that I was able to talk to my dad about everything today.
I'm thankful that I got to go to the gym during the day when there weren't very many people there.
I'm thankful that I worked out for 45 minutes.
I'm thankful that Mr. "Put-on-too-much-hair-product-before-going-to-the-gym" only stayed on the treadmill next to me for 20 minutes.
I'm thankful that I was able to go grocery shopping during the day.
I'm thankful that I got to stay in my gym clothes all day while I ran errands.
Are you seeing a pattern here??
I got laid off yesterday. However...
I'm thankful that I get four weeks of pay while I'm looking for another job.
I'm thankful that I have insurance for those four weeks - time to get the dentist visit in...
I'm thankful that I was given three leads on other jobs that they knew about.
Yesterday my internet at work randomly stopped working around noon. I rebooted my computer, hoping it might help somehow, and I was locked out of my computer. I should have read between the lines. They were going to do it the day before yesterday, but I left before they got the opportunity. :\
I got called in to a conference room yesterday, about 30 minutes before I was supposed to leave, and was laid off. I tried to email myself all of the files on my work computer and then I sent out one final goodbye email to my coworkers, gathered up all of my things, and left. I didn't call Jed right away - I didn't want to tell him over the phone. I walked in with my box and Jed thought we had gotten a package. And then I started sobbing. He held me for a long time, telling me it would be ok, and then he jumped on the computer and started looking for jobs for me. :) At least now I have some free time during the day to get things done. For now. I need to find another job. I hate job-hunting. :(

That's a bummer that happened to you but I know that you have a lot of good skills and you will be able to find a job soon enough. Let me know if I can help.
Awww, I'm so sorry Ali! That's the worst! It's nice that you have a husband that is so supportive and sweet.
Aaron's been looking for a job for a while...it sucks, I feel ya! Keep being positive.
I am so sorry Ali. At least you have such a great and supportive husband to support you. I am sure there is an awesome job out there for you. Hey, at least you looked at the bright side and got four weeks of pay. I hope the search goes well.
I'm so sorry you lost your job! But ... that means we can work out in the afternoons, yes?
I'm so sorry! Losing your job stinks. You'll be able to find another one soon though, I'm sure. Until then, enjoy the time at home, and lets party some.
Ali, wow! I'm so sorry to hear about this. That's pretty cool you did it in a thankful thursday post, way to be positive. . . And what a sweet husband you have. I hope you find another job soon, really. Good thing you get paid weeks off!! That's a HUGE plus, right? I'm jealous of your 'free' days :) Good luck with the job hunt!
I'm sorry you lost your job, but I'm sure you will find something even better. I love your positive attitude about the whole thing! HUGS!
Oh dude, I'm so sorry! What a bummer. But at least you get four weeks paid, that is really, really nice compared to just being let go. And you'll get some time to get things done. So take advantage of it! Good luck with the job hunt, I hope you find something really soon so that you can get paid double for a couple of weeks! :)
Hey Ali I am SO sorry about being let go, it seems to be happinging to people a lot these days but...I have some ideas for you about finding a new job. Send me an email kristin.aten@gmail.com
Oh man...it really is happening to a lot of people. Makes me nervous!!!! Hang in there & best of luck finding a job. When I was in Utah looking for a job, I researched a ton online & went into the LDS employment centers all around SLC, Provo, Lehi, etc- only because I had transportation to all those locations. I went to Kelly Services (temp agency)- to have things in between finding a permanent job...there is another agency- starts with an "S"- I can't think of the name for the life of me! BUT- they only do temp to hire for professional career type jobs- lots of great opportunities there. LDS employment centers have the name...Best of Luck & how wonderful to have such a supportive hubby.
wow that is rough
OH! I'm so sorry! You don't deserve that but you're so awesome, I'm sure you'll find something soon. Hang in there!
