Before I tell you about my weekend, let me start by saying that I lost 3 pounds this week!! :D
Saturday was our anniversary, but we celebrated all weekend. On Friday, we went out to dinner at this great Italian restaurant. Then we went to see Inception, since everyone is raving about it on Facebook these days. It was my first IMAX! The movie was great, and the company was better.
On Saturday, we slept in and had a relaxing day at home. We played Mario together and watched a couple of movies, and then went swimming at night.
I was sick yesterday, so I just chilled in bed all day and watched movies. Jed made me dinner and then we played some more Mario (it's really fun on the Wii, even though I suck really bad).

Thankful Thursday
I am thankful for my gym membership (who says that?).
I am thankful that Amanda invited us to go hiking on Saturday.
I am thankful that I was able to make it to the top of the mountain - it was really hard at the end.
I am thankful that we had enough adults in nursery this week.
I am thankful that I was able to watch The Price is Right more than once this week. :)
I am thankful that our home teachers came over this week - gave us a reason to clean the house, and it was spiritually uplifting.
I am thankful for my Wii Fit.
I am thankful that I get to help Corinne pack tomorrow - I haven't seen her in forever.
I am thankful for the sunshine. :)
I am thankful that I only have to worry about Jed and myself.
I am thankful that I get to visit my family for TWO WEEKS starting on Sunday!! My mom and sisters pitched in to get me a plane ticket - they are the BEST! :D

Monday Memoirs
Friday - We did absolutely nothing! I organized recipes (oh joy, oh bliss...) and Jed played video games. It was one of those "you know you've been married more than six months when..." nights.
Saturday - We went to the duck pond to feed the ducks - if you live in the area, go to the duck pond! There are a bunch of little ducklings and they are adorable. One in particular is bright yellow and the cutest thing ever:
Jed took me out on a surprise date...to Brick Oven! I've only been there once or twice before, and I had forgotten how delish it is! They have incredible root beer and the pizza was probably one of the best I've ever had in my whole life. However, DO NOT get the salad bar! Such a waste of money.
We came home and took a little nap and then did some errands. We picked up a Wii game at Hollywood Video called "Big Brain Academy". It's fun and challenging and you have to use your brain - I like those kind of video games. :)
Sunday - After church, we played a little bit more of that Big Brain game. Jed had to work from 5-7 and I slept the entire time he was gone! It was a great nap.
My poor husband grew up under the rock that is West Virginia - he had never seen Grease! So we watched it last night. I love that movie!

Wednesday Weigh-In
I weighed myself at Gold's tonight and it said their scale said that I was back at 250. However, according to my new Wii Fit (which I love dearly), I have lost 4.8 pounds since I started using it on the 18th!! :D Maybe I'll start going by that instead of Gold's... As of right now, I weigh 246.5 on the Wii Fit.

Monday Memoirs - California Dreamin'
This weekend was SO much fun! Jed and I headed out to California to visit Laurel and her family and my mom because Laurel just had a baby last week. The drive down wasn't too bad and we made pretty good time, even though we still got in pretty late Friday night.
On Saturday (our only full day there...) we woke up, had breakfast, and "Wii'ed it up"! It's so much fun to play the Wii with a bunch of people, especially family. After we were all showered and fed, we went to Tom's Farms and shopped around a little bit in the market. We couldn't ride the rides or visit the petting zoo because it was raining, but it was a cute place to go. Jed randomly found a fruit that he hadn't seen since he lived in Chile - a cherimoya.
We got In N Out for lunch, of course. Then Laurel, Mom, West and I went shopping for materials to make Laurel some curtains while the boys stayed home and played Guitar Hero. It was fun for them to have an equally good partner to play with (Laurel and I are not so good at that game...) and us girls had a great "outing". :) For dinner, we went to this Mexican restaurant that makes amazing tortillas - just like San Antonio! We hung out the rest of the night, and played with West a lot:
Jed and I had to leave around noon on Sunday, so we just bummed around in the morning and played Wii and hung out. Jed opened his special fruit for breakfast, but apparently it wasn't ripe because it was hard and tasted, to me, like ground pepper. :\ When we told Eli that we were leaving he told us that we didn't "need to go to Utah" and he was super sad that we were leaving him. That was cute.
Jed and I were making good time (I think mostly because I was driving) all the up to St. George (where we stopped for more In N Out) and then a little past that. But then we hit a storm. The worst part was the very beginning, when it was a white-out and I couldn't see the road or anything else more than a foot or two in front of the car. The scariest thing was when I started to hit those bumps just outside the lane (you know, the ones that make that really loud sound?) and I thought I was all the way to the right, but then I saw a mile-marker thing coming towards me from the left and realized I was on the opposite side of the road than I thought I was. It was awful! We were so close to driving off the road and in to a ditch, had we not seen that stick thing. So we eventually found a semi to follow and stayed behind larger vehicles the rest of the way home, and added about an hour and a half on to our trip. Jed was SO supportive and helpful while I was driving. I wasn't so much that way to him when the situation was reversed and he was driving home from Vegas in a storm. He is SO good to me, and sweet, and patient. I'm grateful that I have such a wonderful man to spend my life with.

Thankful Thursday
Yep, we are now officially Costco members. I feel so...grown-up. Just kidding. We had a Sam's Club membership last year, but that wasn't cutting it - it was farther from our house, and they didn't have that yummy Kirkland Chocolate Weight Loss Shake(
) that I drink every morning for breakfast. :D And they have those awesome tortilla strips that are great for dipping (
). I also got the Amex card. I think it'll help pay for the cost of membership.Also, I am thankful that Jed and I get to go to Cali tomorrow to see Laurel and her cute family, and my mom! I can't wait to see my new nephew - he looks so cute in his pictures!
And I'm thankful that I have a Wii, because I love it. (Is that vain?) Well, I love my Wii Fit because it's an easy way to keep track of my weight [loss] and I can do fun activities on it.

Catch-Up
I felt like yesterday's post needed a day of its own, so I didn't post this yesterday.
This is what we did with our Thanksgiving break:
On Thursday, we woke up and went shopping. We weren't eating until later, and we didn't have anything else to do. Plus, there was something on sale that day that I had been meaning to get for Jed anyways. And we didn't get up early or anything (surprisingly they still had it and I was able to get it!). Don't hate. Thanksgiving dinner was already explained - look at the post below this one. It was incredible.
Jed went in to work on Friday morning and I went over to the Keays' to let their dog, Rusty out. While I was there, surfing all of their glorious TV stations (we only have basic cable), Anne of Green Gables came on! Talk about memory lane. I only got to watch the first two 'episodes' before Jed got there, but it was good! We went and got Jed's car looked at. His brakes haven't been doing too well and we're trying to eventually sell the thing. Justin, Amanda, and Tommy came over to the Keays' and we played the Wii for a while. We were in the middle of Wii bowling and I realized that Jed and I hadn't been bowling since our first date. So we all picked up and went to the bowling alley. Super spontaneous. Super fun. We went for shakes at Sconecutters afterward. Good times.
On Saturday, I woke up to Mario theme music. Jed was playing MarioKart on the Wii. We bummed around all day, until Jacob Garrison's wedding reception. I was so glad we got to go because my friend Summer was there. I got to talk to her for a while and catch up. It was so good to see her. We had to leave the reception a little bit earlier than I would have liked because I had a surprise date planned for Jed and me. Something neither of us had ever done before. A Murder Mystery! It was...interesting. I kept getting discouraged because I was running in to roadblocks and couldn't think of who to ask and what to ask them. But after Jed and I joined forces, we figured it out and won gift cards!!
Jed rediscovered cinnamon-sugar toast on Sunday. I made my yummy crock pot stroganoff recipe and we salivated over the smell all day. We watched D2 after dinner, and went to bed.
Yesterday we did a temple walk (up and around the big hill) and went grocery shopping. Nothing too exciting to report about. :)
