Monday Memoirs

Before I tell you about my weekend, let me start by saying that I lost 3 pounds this week!! :D

Saturday was our anniversary, but we celebrated all weekend. On Friday, we went out to dinner at this great Italian restaurant. Then we went to see Inception, since everyone is raving about it on Facebook these days. It was my first IMAX! The movie was great, and the company was better.

On Saturday, we slept in and had a relaxing day at home. We played Mario together and watched a couple of movies, and then went swimming at night.

I was sick yesterday, so I just chilled in bed all day and watched movies. Jed made me dinner and then we played some more Mario (it's really fun on the Wii, even though I suck really bad).

Monday Memoirs

Thursday (My Birthday!!) - Jed pretended to go to school and then woke me up with breakfast in bed! It was a great way to start the day!
I brought him Pita Pit for lunch.
We went bowling and then to PF Changs for dinner. And then to top of the day, we watched Julie & Julia. That movie is SO cute!

Friday - I applied to a bunch of jobs! Hopefully one will pan out.

Saturday - I woke up at 3am with what I thought was food poisoning. I spent most of the day between my bed and the toilet.
I was feeling better by nighttime, so we went ahead and had my birthday dinner at Red Robin. Even though we had to be at two different tables, it was great to see everyone! I had a great birthday dinner!

Sunday - I woke up feeling a little ill again, but not nearly as bad as the day before. Primary was the worse ever. We had a visiting girl who was insanely hyper, a handicapped child who has a "helper" stay in the room with him, and the helper's daughter is one of our students, and she got really clingy with her mom being in the room. Plus, the helper kept telling us how to run our class and how to do everything. It was so frustrating.

Monday - Jed woke up with the "food poisoning" virus that I had had. He tried to go to work, but came home shortly after leaving. He slept it off and is feeling much better.

Monday Memoirs

Friday - We went to the BYU vs. Utah baseball game with Seth & Megan, Justin & Amanda, and Adam & Amanda. It was freezing! But we did get free hot dogs and soda (yeah, cold soda...). I'm glad we got there when we did because people were standing in the aisles - I guess they oversold the game. Utah got 7 runs in the first inning, then BYU came back towards the end and barely lost (13-15).

Saturday - We went to the Draper Temple open house in the morning. It was a little crowded, but really pretty! ;) I can't wait until we can go back!

After the open house, we went to lunch at a new place in West Jordan called Grille from Impanema. The concept is like Tucanos, but it was not nearly as good and there wasn't much variety either. Oh, and there was one other couple in the entire restaurant, which made it kind of awkward. Especially after they left and we were there alone. We will not be going back...

We drove up to Gateway to the Clark Planetarium to catch a movie, Under the Sea in 3D. It was pretty good, if you don't get sick from 3D stuff... It kinda hurt my eyes a little bit. Jim Carrey narrated, which was neat. We did some shopping after the movie and then we had to head home because I was feeling really sick.

Sunday - I didn't go to church because I was tired from being sick all night (and I was still feeling really crappy). I slept most of the day, and spent the rest in the bathroom... :( When Jed got home from church, I moved from the bed to the couch, sipped some Sprite, and started feeling a little better - it might have something to do with the fact that I watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang too. Who knows? I also sewed up a hole in one of our blankets. (And I'm still working on our T-shirt quillow)

That's about all. I still haven't heard back about that job. Maybe I should start looking in other places and not putting all of my eggs in one basket?? Please, if you remember, keep me and my job-hunting in your prayers. I would aprreciate it. :D

Monday Memoirs

Friday- On Friday night, we had our home teacher and his wife and the Nielsens over for dinner and Wii games. It was really fun to just hang out at home and have some people over. We don't do that enough because our house is so small. I wish we did it more often.

Oh - before our little get-together, Justin came by the house to show us his freakin sweet new motorcycle! It's a 2007 Honda 919 - his dream bike!! It's really, really nice. I have a fear of motorcycles, so I doubt I'll ever ride it, but we'll see. ;)

Saturday- I got woken up to Jed telling me goodbye because he was going to play frizz (frisbee) at the park with his friends. Well I wanted to go so I could talk to the wives, so I got up real quick and got ready and we left. We were only there for three hours (surprise, surprise) and I got burned on my face and arm - yep, arm. I only got burned on one side of my body because the sun was on my right the whole time. I look like Two-Face. But that's better than being burned all over. (We found out some possibly great news about some friends of ours. I'll let you know if it turns out to be the good kind of news.)

We went home and bummed around a little bit before we decided to go shopping. We got a bunch of stuff at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond for FREE! I love wedding gift cards!
Then Justin came over while his wife and sister went shopping. I got to crochet and the boys got to play video games - win/win.
When the girls were done shopping, we met up with them for some ice cream and then we went and soaked in the hot tub at Gold's. A great end to a fun day.

Sunday- I stayed at home, in bed, while Jed was at church. We had the lesson in nursery this week and he had to do it all by himself. What a trooper! I guess I'll have to do it all by myself next week... Joy.

We went up to my aunt's house for my cousin's 12th birthday party. It was good to see the family. I don't think we've seen most of them since Thanksgiving. All is well. For those of you in the fam, Mary and Steve are choosing not to know what their baby will be. Grams went to the ultrasound, but she couldn't tell what it was.

Today- Work, work, work. I was late today (like 25 minutes late) and my boss was having a meeting in a first floor room that has windows facing the parking lot where I park. I pulled right up to the window. Nice.

About 3 hours ago, I started feeling a fever coming on. Then the body aches started. My mom told me to take some Ibuprofen, so I did. I'm feeling a little bit better, but this is my late day and I'm not happy about having to stay here sick. I may or may not come in tomorrow. We'll see what happens. :(

Heading Out to the "West"

I feel like such a blogging slacker (as if it all matters in the grand scheme of things...). But I do have an excuse. I've been on my death bed. Well, maybe not, but it kind of felt like it. I had the worse head pain over the weekend. I was going to go in to the doctor if it continued on through today, but luckily it stopped. (I really thought I had a tumor or something serious. Now I'll never know, but then again I don't really care as long as I'm not hurting anymore...) I do still have the stuffy/runny/raw nose, coupled with throat pain that Jed and I keep passing back and forth. Yuck. I hope I can get rid of it before I go see my brand-spanking new nephew on Friday.

Yep, I'm officially an aunt of FOUR nephews, no nieces. Westley Kai Lakey was born on Monday. (We'll call him West) 8 lbs 2 oz; 20 inches, I think? Jed and I are so fortunate to be able to drive to California on Friday to see Laurel's family (and my mom)!! Here's a picture I stole from Laurel's sister-in-law's blog:

Don't Even Think About It

Yes, I have been sick lately. Yes, I feel sick today. My stomach hurts real bad, like hungry and nauseated at the same time. My nose is runny. My head hurts and I think it's warm. My eyes hurt, but they aren't itchy. I'm not allergic to anything. It's not from the rancid brownies last night. ;) And NO, I'm not pregnant. So don't even think about it. I'm thinking maybe I'll pick up some orange juice and chug a half gallon of that tonight. Maybe that will help. Do you think working out will bring it out, or make it worse? Should I just take some Pepto and grab some tissues? I don't think this is doctor-worthy, yet.

Last night Jed and I went over to Meals & Trent's house for dinner. Aubry and Michael came too. It was a fun triple date. Meals and Aubry made amazing chicken enchiladas with spanish rice and I whipped up a green salad. It was a really yummy dinner, complete with brownies and ice cream (I had pumpkin and it was really good). Jed had a bunch of homework to do, so we didn't get to play Cranium, even though it's his favorite game. I've never played, so I was hoping to get to, but oh well. We just bought it, so we can play whenever.

It's Not Easy Being Green!

Green = Sick.

This weekend, my two days of fun/relaxation/do whatever I want, was ruined by this evil thing called sickness. I don't know what it was, or where it came from, but I felt it. I even had to sit out when we went to the Power Tumbling gym on Saturday night. :( It looked like a lot of fun and I was able to get some videos. I did get some homework done while I was sitting on the sidelines, so I guess that's good. Each of these clips are just a few seconds long, sorry some of them are sideways... But they're still kind of fun.

PS-That last video is for Amanda... ;)

Then, last night, it was like the finale of my sickness. I won't give all the details, but I was up half the night. Good thing I slept 13(!) hours Saturday night, so it all kind of evened out. ;) I'm feeling a little better today. But then again, it's Monday. Blah.
